Caversham Heights Preschool has been providing learning through play for local pre-school children for 51 years. The pre-school aims to provide pre-school education in a Church Hall where children have access to the large hall, a quiet room with a lending library and an outside play area. Pupils range from 3 to 5 years of age.

Kennet Day Nursery is one of several workplace nurseries run by Reading Borough Council. It opened in 1987 and operates from part of the main Civic Centre building and an annex building sited within an enclosed outdoor area. It is situated in Reading town centre. The children at the nursery share access to a secure enclosed outdoor play area as well as a modern indoor centre.
