For the project we used the Reading Borough Council Parent/Carer Survey. This is a quick and easy questionnaire made up of 6 questions concerning parents’ knowledge and confidence about talking, communication, reading and writing and how they help their child.
Within the settings’ Parent Workshops, they were also asked to create their own questionnaires so that they could gather information about parents feelings towards specific areas in their child’s development. Again, these questionnaires meant that staff could find out how confident parents were at the start of their workshop, and then measure the change in confidence after the workshop was completed.
